At 58.85 mm long, 38.05 mm wide, and 13.5 mm thick, weighing 54.5 g, the Samsung Gear 2 Neo is a low-energy, Bluetooth-enabled smartwatch that is both dust- and water-resistant. The device is equipped with a 1.63-in. Super AMOLED display rendering 320 x 320 resolution, 16M colors, and a capacitive touchscreen for navigating through various screens.
The smartwatch runs on a 1-GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 3250 processor with 512 MB of RAM. It is equipped with a 6-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, heart-rate sensor, and a 300-mAh Li-Polymer battery.
The Gear 2 Neo comes with the following features: a stopwatch and timer, a weather app, an IR-based WatchOn TV remote control, notifications for all apps that are delivered regularly to your Samsung phone, an onboard offline music player, a heart-rate monitor and pedometer, and a microphone and speaker for making phone calls, recording voice memos, using S-Voice voice recognition, and playing back music.
Additionally, its overall fitness features are comparable to the Pebble: there is an onboard pedometer with a sleep-tracking app, and a rear-mounted, LED-based heart-rate monitor with the ability to produce continuous readings while exercising.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 LE and EDR, microUSB, IrLED, and FM radio. Samsung’s Gear 2 Neo comes in black, gray, or orange and is available for $199.00.
