It’s an economical design alternative to a pure platinum wire for making connectors and switch components. The PtMo wire features a smooth and consistent surface finish. And it offers superior integrity, formability, and weld ability compared to the wire that is electroplated.

Anomet Platinum Clad Molybdenum Wire is available in 0.010-in. to 0.060-in. O.D. sizes, with cladding from 14% to 38% by weight, depending on the diameter. According to Anomet, it’s highly suitable for use in devices that are subjected to harsh environments.

The new wire is priced from $1 to $30 per foot, depending upon configuration and quantity.
