In a move that will help drive industry adoption and standardization of intermateable in-vehicle networking HFM FAKRA-Mini coaxial connectors, Molex and Rosenberger have signed a dual-sourcing agreement that allows Molex to produce the FAKRA-Mini automotive coaxial connectors based on the Rosenberger HFM design. The agreement enables both companies to provide high-speed intermateable connectors with identical mechanical and electrical performance and features.
Enabling high-speed data transmission at data rates up to 20 Gbits/s needed for connected vehicle applications that require the operation of multiple devices, screens, and cameras, the Rosenberger HFM FAKRA-Mini system is designed for existing and future automotive applications. These include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), navigation, infotainment, and intelligent connected vehicles.
The HFM FAKRA-Mini connectors also save 80% of installation space and significant weight compared to the conventional FAKRA generation, according to the companies. For more information: https://bit.ly/2FRIBCo .
