The 36-W part is Class II, earth-free construction, while this is an option on the 45-W and 65-W versions. Input connectors are IEC320-C8 “figure-of-eight”–type for Class II parts and IEC320-C14–type when Class I is specified. This connector can be provided with an optional cable restraint for applications when accidental disconnection would be critical. Output connection is via a flying lead with standard jack plug.

These high-reliability parts feature 4-kVac isolation rating, 5,000-m altitude operation, and safety approvals to UL/EN/IEC 60950 for IT equipment and EN/IEC/CSA/ANSI-AAMI ES 60601-1 for medical equipment with two levels of patient protection (2 × MOPP). Applications include portable medical equipment, cosmetic treatment, environmental monitoring, test and measurement, and mobile communications.
