Premier Farnell recently announced the availability of an AI Configurator tool that provides users with the opportunity to select the optimal development solutions for their AI designs from among a wide range of vendors. The company expects the new configurator, which features products available from the distributor, to accelerate the design process and reduce time to market by streamlining the research process and providing a one-stop shop for a customer’s AI project development needs. Developers can select from a range of development boards, add-on boards, accessories, and software.
The AI Configurator searches for AI applications in sectors such as predictive maintenance, voice recognition, object or human recognition, motion recognition, and machine learning. Engineers can then choose from among a variety of sensors for measuring everything from environmental factors (like temperature and pressure) to motion detection, as well as proximity, audio, and image sensing.
The configurator also enables developers to choose between long- and short-range wireless communication and view the various combinations of features that are available for each option. Once the user has selected the product(s) that they wish to purchase, the configurator provides a link to the corresponding webpage on Premier Farnell’s sites, as well as links to any other relevant content or additional resources available on PF’s sites.
“Engineers are often only aware of products from a limited number of vendors, but by offering them a selection of solutions from the widest possible spectrum of suppliers, the AI Configurator tool means that engineers don’t need to be experts on products from every vendor to ensure that they are using the best technology to support their projects,” according to Ralf Buehler, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Premier Farnell. “This is the first AI configuration and selector tool to cover multiple vendors and allow users to buy the product quickly and easily — it should be the first place that engineers go to when starting or considering a project using AI.”
