Open-frame power supplies deliver high reliability for long life

SL Power has expanded its GB series of open-frame AC/DC power supplies with the GB10, GB20, GB30, and GB40 families that offer, 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-W power ratings. Each PCB-mount power supply family features output voltages ranging from 5 V to 48 V and can accept a universal input range from 90 to 264 VAC over the temperature range of −20°C to 70°C.

Meeting electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) industry standards, together with a long product life, makes the GB series easier for medical and industrial OEMs to integrate these power conversion units into their products. Moreover, SL Power  claims that these open-frame power supplies boast the efficiency of more than 88% and less than 0.1-W no-load input power.

The open-mount AC/DC power supplies are approved to medical and industrial safety standards, including EN/IEC/UL60601-1, third edition with 2× MOPP isolation, and EN/IEC/UL62368-1. They are also designed to meet the EMC requirements as per the fourth edition of UL/EN/IEC60601-1-2.

Long-life electrolytic capacitors and an MTBF of 1 million hours ensure the reliability of the power supplies. SL Power also offers a three-year warranty for its open-frame power supplies. The GB series power supplies are available through the company’s network of authorized distributors.
