Miniature tact switch rated to 10 million cycles

C&K claims the industry’s first miniature tactile switch that is rated to 10 million cycles, making them suitable for demanding applications, such industrial and gaming equipment

C&K has claimed the industry’s first miniature tact switch, measuring 6.2 × 6.2 × 3.5 mm, with a rating of 10 million cycles. With a long cycle life, the KSC Tireless Endurance (KSC TE ) is well-suited to demanding applications in the industrial, elevator, and gaming industries.

The KSC TE provides 10 million cycles thanks to a soft actuator and a revised internal structure. Most existing solutions offer maximum actuations of only 5 million cycles at 1.6N, which the KSC TE series doubles, said C&K.

The ultra-long reliability also reduces the need for maintenance or replacement, while the smaller size allows designers to add more functionality or reduce the PCB size. In addition, the soft actuator allows for easier tolerance management with possible pre-load. The IP67 rating offers protection against dust and water ingress.
