C&K has introduced a new family of tactile switches that offer low sound, long travel, and positive tactile feedback. The Tact Low Sound (TLS) Series delivers advanced haptics with ultra-soft feedback that can be customized to meet vehicle interior requirements. Target applications include vehicle consoles, panels, steering wheels, paddles, window lifters, seat adjusters, and other in-cabin applications.
Designed with J leads, the TLS series switches allow engineers to either reduce the size of the printed circuit board or add functionality to their design. The series is available in two versions: The STD model delivers 50% tactile feeling with 0.9-mm travel and an actuation force of 4N, 7N, or 10N. The low-tactile version offers 30% tactile feeling with the same travel and actuation force options as the STD model.
The pre-travel allows easy integration by compensating the tolerances of other components included in the application, said C&K.
The TLS Series offers an operating temperature of −40°C to 90°C, a power value of 10 µ VA min./0.8 VA max, a voltage of DC 1 V min./16 V max, and a current rating of 10 µA min./50 mA max. Other features include IP54 sealing for protection against dust, liquid, and humidity and a 500K cycle rating for long life and reliability.
