C&K has extended its range of magnetic proximity sensors with the introduction of the MPSR Series of ruggedized magnetic proximity sensors. The MPSR sensors for non-contact position and proximity detection feature a ruggedized aluminum housing and a stainless steel cable to deliver accurate remote monitoring in tough environments, such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, water, and other potential contaminants.
The MPSR Series with an operating life of 4 million actuations targets a variety of remoting monitoring applications including automotive, factory automation, industrial, IoT, and security. Suited for Zone 2 applications, the sensors use hermetically sealed contacts that insulate electrical switch contacts from the outside environment, eliminating the risk of sparks.
With Form C switching, the MSPSR sensors provide two outputs that can be toggled to offer additional feedback capabilities. The normally open contacts are open when the magnet is removed from proximity to the sensor, and they are held closed when the magnet is within actuation range. Conversely, the normally closed contacts are closed when the magnet is removed from proximity to the sensor, while they are open when the magnet is within actuation range, said C&K.
Thanks to the 30 V, 3 W rating the sensor can be used for either signal level or load switching as required by the application. The operating temperature range is -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to 80°C), enabling operation in harsh thermal environments. The sensor series is UL61058 approved and meets IP-67 sealing.
