Mini PCB relay handles medium-to-heavy automotive loads

Fujitsu Components America has launched a 12-VDC PCB relay with a switching capacity of 50 A at 14 VDC for medium-to-heavy automotive load applications.

Fujitsu Components America, Inc. has expanded its automotive relay family with the introduction of the 12-VDC PCB relay that features a switching capacity of 50 A at 14 VDC. The FBR53-HC offers a higher contact rating than the previous 40-A FBR53-HW device, while maintaining the same 12.1 x 15.5 x 13.7-mm footprint and weight of 6g.

Fujitsu 50-A PCB relayKey specs of the FBR53-HC include a maximum carrying current of 62.5 A, 14 VDC (30 minutes at 125oC) and an operating temperature of -40°C to 125°C. Applications include medium-to-heavy loads, such as electric power steering, radiator fans, fuel pumps, seat heaters, head lamps, and motor braking circuits.

Key features:

  • Compact size for high density packaging
  • High operating temperature range
  • Low coil power of approximately 0.6 W
  • Reflow capable version available
  • Plastic sealed

The FBR53-HC is a mini ISO relay replacement that uses a 1 Form U dual-contact arrangement normally open for high contact reliability. It features a typical electrical life of 100,000 operations and power consumption of approximately 600 mW.

Available now, the RoHS-compliant PCB relay is housed in a plastic sealed package and is also available in a through-hole reflow version. Click here for the datasheet.
