Sealed panel-mount connector meets aerospace requirements

TE Connectivity has expanded its 369 series with a sealed panel-mount connector for harsh aerospace environments.

TE Connectivity has extended its 369 family of connectors with the introduction of a compact and lightweight sealed panel-mount connector series. The new 369 series connector is suited for harsh environments in aerospace and aviation applications.

TE Connectivity 369 series sealed panel-mount connector seriesMade of high-performance composite materials, the new 369 connectors meet low-smoke, toxicity, and flammability requirements of the aerospace industry. Key features include fully sealed electrical interfaces, as well as a cork-in-bottle interface seal and triple-wire-seal technology to withstand high-moisture environments. The connectors also include replaceable panel sealing gaskets that allow for IP67 moisture and dust protection.

The new connector is compatible with existing 369 series connectors with enhanced features including push-in mounting and positive button latching with an audible click. The connector also provides space and weight savings compared to traditional circular connectors, said TE.

The rectangular shape allows the connectors to be easily stacked for space savings in applications such as cabin and galley lighting, seat wiring and actuation, passenger service units, in-flight entertainment, electronic window shutters, and a variety of other industrial uses.

The 369 series sealed panel-mount connectors also easily mount to a line-replaceable unit (LRU) panel, bracket, chassis, or frame by using integrated panel latches to clip the connector into a rectangular cut out. TE said this eliminates the need for additional fasteners or fixings for easier repair and maintenance.

Other specs include an operating temperature range of -55°C to 175° C, 500 mating cycles, and  and an operating current of 5 A. The dielectric withstanding voltage is 1500 Vrms mated.

TE Connectivity also offers the 369 series family with EMI-shielded rectangular connectors for harsh military environments.
