AMD has launched the Ryzen Embedded R2000 Series, second-generation mid-range system-on-chip (SoC) processors for industrial and robotics systems, machine vision, IoT, and thin-client equipment. The Ryzen Embedded R2000 Series doubles the core count with up to four CPU cores and delivers improvements over the previous generation, with the new R2514 model offering up to 81% higher CPU and graphics performance than the Embedded R1000 series processor.
The AMD Ryzen Embedded R2000 Series processors are scalable up to four “Zen+” CPU cores with eight threads, 2 MB of L2 cache, and 4 MB of shared L3 cache. The series also supports up to 3200 MT/s DDR4 dual-channel memory and expanded I/O connectivity, delivering 33% higher memory bandwidth and up to 2× greater I/O connectivity compared to the R1000 processors.
The Zen+ core architecture and the AMD Radeon graphics optimizes the performance-per-watt efficiency. The processors can power up to four independent displays in 4K resolution and support DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b, and eDP 1.3 interfaces. Other features include a set of high-speed peripherals and interfaces with up to 16 lanes of PCIe Gen3, 2× SATA 3.0 and six USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen2 and 2.0) as well as OS support for Microsoft Windows 11/10 and Linux Ubuntu LTS.
