Tektronix upgrades spectrum analyzer software

Tektronix launches the SignalVu spectrum analyzer software, Version 5.4, with multi-channel digital modulation analysis.

Tektronix, Inc. has released its SignalVu spectrum analyzer software, Version 5.4, for multi-channel modulation analysis of up to eight signals in parallel. The package works with the Tektronix 5 Series MSO, 6 Series MSO or DPO70000 oscilloscopes.

The latest 5.4 software version is designed to meet the requirements of today’s wireless systems, including phased array antennas, RF transmitters and mixed-signal ICs, offering multi-channel digital modulation analysis. The software can turn existing oscilloscopes into comprehensive wireless system testers, said Tektronix, instead of purchasing a dedicated tester, such as a vector signal analyzer. A key use case is applications that require time-domain analysis with RF measurements.

Version 5.4 enables the analysis of up to eight simultaneous signals, improving multi-signal analysis capabilities, while also addressing the needs of multi-signal, multi-standard or multi-device under test (DUT) applications. This update supports up to 26 wireless modulation schemes, including nFSK, nPSK and nQAM, as well as introducing 1024QAM for higher-bandwidth applications.

The introduction of shared-acquisition multi-signal support also enables the simultaneous analysis of signals that are frequency-separated, while input through the same scope channel. Tektronix said this is important for the validation and optimization of advanced wireless communication systems, including phased array antennas, next-generation RF transmitters and mixed-signal ICs.

The previous version 5.3, released in September 2023, added several capabilities, such as measuring phase and amplitude difference between multiple signals, supporting external downconverters for measuring higher frequencies and analyzing pulse characteristics of multiple radar signals simultaneously. It also automates phase noise measurements using the MSO.

SignalVu spectrum analyzer software gives RF engineers and researchers in-depth analysis on RF signals, covering a wide range of applications for wireless, military and government applications, as well as microwave and loT sectors. It also provides MSO/DPO oscilloscope users insight into complex systems, such as radar, EW, SATCOM, MIMO, uplink/downlink, mesh network and phased-array systems.

Tektronix SignalVu Version 5.4 is now available globally. Digital modulation analysis is available as a downloadable license (SVM). Visit Tek.com for a 30-day trial license and more information.
