Cissoid has introduced its EVK-PLA1060 on-board inverter reference design that delivers a complete solution for integration into vehicles ready for in-vehicle and field testing. Based on the company’s silicon carbide (SiC) inverter control modules (ICMs), the reference design offers a broad range of voltage and power ranges.
The EVK-PLA1060 reference designs support 100-850-V operating bus voltages and a power range of 100-350 kW, offering the potential for a power density up to 52 kW per liter. Featuring a compact aluminum housing, the reference designs offer easy vehicle mounting and the motor control software allows for user customization and configuration.
The control board in the ICMs are based on Silicon Mobility’s application-specific processor, the ultra-fast OLEA T222 field programmable control unit (FPCU). Featuring programmable hardware, the FPCU accelerates response times to critical events, off-loading the processor cores and improving functional safety.
The programmable hardware, combined with the OLEA APP – T222 INVERTER control software, enables fast control loops, high switching frequencies and optimization for features such as dead-time compensation and advanced modulations. It is fully configurable for use with a variety of e-motor types.
Both the OLEA T222 processor and OLEA APP – T222 INVERTER software carry ISO 26262 ASIL-D and AUTOSAR 4.3 certification. ISO 26262 certification of Cissoid’s ICMs is in progress.
The configurable and customizable EVK-PLA1060 consists of a SiC power module, the control board, a low equivalent series inductance DC-link capacitor, a compact electromagnetic interference filter and current sensors.
