A/D converter achieves 0.5 ppm INL error

The LTC2378-20 20-bit 1 Ms/s SAR A/D converter features an exceptionally low 0.5 ppm typical, 2 ppm maximum integral non-linearity (INL) error – enabling a new generation of precision systems. The device is specified over -40° to 85°C and achieves an exceptional SNR of 104 db.

The zero latency IC uses an SPI output, has a -125 dB THD (typ) at fIN of 2 kHz, and operates from a 2.5 V supply, with a ±5V fully differential input and uses an external 5 V reference. It needs only 21 mW at a 1 M sample rate and shutdown mode reduces power to 2.5 μW. It is available in MSOP16 and 4 x 3 mm DFN16 packages, starting at $29.50 ea./1,000.
