Another virtual reality headset on the market? You bet. We’ve all been aware of the wearable trend as stemmed by Google Glass and Oculus Rift, and now Glyph has arrived. This headset looks and acts like a regular set of headphones. When you place the Glyph over your eyes, the headband displays any sort of media, including video games, movies, and TV shows. All of these options can be connected via the HDMI cable, and are available to enhance the high-tech personal viewing experience.

Glyph uses Virtual Retinal Display (VRD) and a low-power LED that imitates the way that we perceive natural light. It projects images onto your retina, all while using one million micromirrors in each eye lens on the headset. The optic focus micromirrors reflect the images onto the retina and allow the user to view the media clearly and vividly. Since Glyph uses this method of reflection, fatigue over prolonged use does not occur.

The headset offers a high-quality video experience in a personal streaming device. The WXGA resolution is 1,280 x 720 per eye, with a total pixel count of 1,843,200. There is a refresh rate of 120 Hz with a horizontal field of view of 45 degrees. The sound output mode functions in premium stereo, and the frequency response is 20 to 20,000 Hz, and the dynamic range is 115 dB. The battery is rechargeable via a microUSB cable, and runs for 3 hours on a full charge.

When an LTE chip is integrated into the device, phone calls can be made directly from the Glyph headset.
