ABEL offers direct VHDL entry

VHDL-Direct is a design entry option to the ABEL hardware description
language and provides a higher level of behavioral abstraction within the
company�s ABEL environment. The VHDL compiler works in parallel with
ABEL, and is available as an option to ABEL-5. With VHDL-Direct, VHDL
designs can be simulated both before and after being mapped to a device.
In addition, the compiler offers multilevel optimization, as well as
access to ABEL SmartPath Device Selector and intelligent fitter
