XP Power has introduced its CCP550 series of low-profile 550-W AC/DC power supplies that are rated for convection, conduction and forced-air cooling. They are approved for use in both medical and industrial applications, including sealed enclosure environments.
The CCP550 power supplies may be used in a variety of medical devices including ventilators, patient monitors, imaging systems and laboratory equipment. Target industrial applications include test equipment, instrumentation, process control, industrial printing and UV curing. They are also suited for use in factory automation, audio/video and IoT equipment.
The CCP550 series offers six different single rail outputs: 12 V, 15 V, 18 V, 24 V, 36 V and 48 VDC. All units excluding the 15-V model include a 12-V, 0.5-A fan output and a 5-V/2-A standby output as well as an optional remote on/off capability.
The double-decker aluminum substrate baseplate construction, conduction-cooled power magnetics and high-efficiency zero voltage switching (ZVS) topology deliver high levels of efficiency and excellent thermal performance, the company said.
This translates into operation up to 300 W with convection cooling and 400 W with conduction cooling, enabling operation in sealed environments, silent running and high levels of reliability. When used with forced air of 20 CFM, the CCP550 power supplies offer the full 550-W output, delivering high power density in a low profile (37.5 mm/1.48 in.), 127.0 × 76.2 mm (5 × 3-in.) footprint.
For medical applications, CCP550 devices are approved to IEC60601-1 Ed.3 with 2 × MOPP from primary to secondary and 1 × MOPP from primary to earth and secondary to earth. It is suited for body floating (BF) patient contact medical devices.
In addition, a wide input voltage range (80-264 VAC) enables global usage, including home healthcare applications. The power supplies operate over a temperature range of -30°C to 70°C.
The CCP550 series is available direct from XP Power and via its distributors, including Avnet Abacus, Digi-Key, Distrelec, Farnell, Mouser, RS Components and authorized regional distributors. The series offers a three-year warranty.
