Accelerated Technology®, announces a new version of the Nucleus® POSIX kernel that is compliant with the Software Communication Architecture (SCA). The Nucleus POSIX SCA kernel now provides developers of military and aviation communication devices with benefits that include software reusability, system scalability and rapid insertion of new technologies into fielded SDR systems.


MOBILE, Ala., Feb. 23, 2005 -Accelerated Technology®, a Mentor Graphics division (Nasdaq: MENT), today announced a new version of the Nucleus® POSIX kernel that is compliant with the Software Communication Architecture (SCA) version 3.0, a set of standards for deploying and interconnecting the signal processing objects of a software defined radio (SDR) system.

SCA is a key technology for developing versatile, interoperable SDR systems. The U.S. Department of Defense provides a family of software programmable radios such as handheld, vehicular, base station, airborne and dismounted radios-all designed around the SCA for different military domains.
