ANC, known as Active Noise Cancellation, is a technique in which anti-noise waveforms are applied to match the frequency of the offensive noise. ANC systems are usually involved in industrial equipment, dynamic systems and domestic appliances. They are also often found in multi-dimensional surroundings similar to working factories and zone silencing systems and, being so small and portable, they can adjust to any atmosphere.

There are two fundamental methods. The first being the synthesis method which uses sampling and storing of noise cycles to generate an anti-noise waveform centered on the already stored information. The second being the adaptive cancellation procedure, which, with the use of microphones, can detect noise in order to adapt them into generating anti-noise wave-forms. If the noise is motionless with up to 300Hz, ANC systems can be most effective.
