AdvancedMC cards handle media/signaling

The AMC304/AMC305 communication module AMC cards use a Freescale MPC8560 Quad Integrated Communications Controller running at 833 MHz to tackle high-capacity signaling and media applications. With four T1/E1/J1, PCIe, and GbE interfaces, the modules enable rapid exchange of payload information. The AMC305 module can transmit TDM traffic over iTDM.

Both AMCs use the NexusWare carrier-grade Linux OS and development environment, as well as a complete suite of integrated communications protocols including MTP2 (SS7), HDLC, ISDN, X.25, and Frame Relay. The modules have 128 Mbytes to 1 Gbyte of shared SDRAM, 64 Mbytes of flash, and take 20 W typ and 24 W max. ($2,500 to $3,500 — available now.)
