Affordable thermal camera fits into shirt pocket
Called an ultraportable, the MikroSHOT thermal imaging camera weighs only 300 g (with batteries) and measures just 100 x 65 x 45 mm, making it small and lightweight enough to carry around all day in a shirt pocket. The camera’s capabilities match those found in thermal imagers typically costing over $10,000, yet it sells for just under $6,000.
The camera’s Thermal-on-Visible mode allows for radiometric temperature data to be displayed over a photo image on its 2.7-in., 160 x 120-pixel LCD. The unit has a 20° to 350°C (−4° to 662°F) measuring range, 10-cm minimum focal length, autofocus from 1.3 m to infinity, and high/low-temperature alarm.
So users can analyze the JPEG-format thermal data on a laptop or other mobile device, the unit has SD card, USB, and video-output capability. MikroSpec 4.0 software is included for image analysis and reporting.
The unit is offered as a complete package with rechargeable batteries, battery charger, power cord, AC Adaptor, 1-Gbyte SD card, USB cable, software, operations manual, lens cap, quick start guide, wrist strap, and carrying case. ($5,995 stock to 2 weeks ARO.)
