Agilent Technologies unveils new 30-second demo series of user-inspired advanced design system 2014 innovations

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 6, 2014 – Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the launch of a new series of 30-second demos on user-inspired innovations to its Advanced Design System 2014 software, the industry's leading electronic design automation software for RF, microwave and signal-integrity applications. The videos quickly cover the new technologies and capabilities that make ADS 2014 the most significant ADS release to date.

“ADS users represent some of the best and brightest engineers in the industry, with their designs now inside almost every communication device in the world,” said Charles Plott, marketing manager for Agilent EEsof EDA. “We carefully listen to their ideas and are excited to unveil several user-inspired capabilities in an efficient, easy, seeing-is-believing approach.”

Among the innovations is Automatic Electromagnetic (EM) Simulation Setup & Design Partitioning, which automates the manual steps associated with removing SMD parts and active devices, inserting ports, and reconnecting the design in the schematic. Automating this process saves time and eliminates manually generated errors.

Another highlighted feature is the previously proprietary DynaFET model, a breakthrough nonlinear model based on neural network technology that precisely captures self-heating and trapping effects across the entire design space without the need for tuning. Other innovations include Wireless Verification Test Benches, Intelligent Layout Interconnect, Controlled Impedance Line Designer, and Multi-Technology Assembly, to name a few.

The ADS 2014 30-second demos can be viewed at www.agilent.com/find/eesof-ads-30-second-demos. Designers who view a demo and submit a feedback form will be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card. Viewers are also encouraged to add their own feedback on the innovations. Images of the ADS 2014 30-second demos are available at www.agilent.com/find/ADS30SecDemo_images
