Altera First Semiconductor Company in Santa Clara County Certified as a Green Business
Altera announced that it is the first semiconductor company in Santa Clara County, Calif. to be certified as a Green Business. The Green Business Program is a voluntary program that recognizes businesses that commit to full compliance with environmental regulations and take steps to prevent pollution, reduce waste, and conserve resources.
Altera began implementing environmentally friendly measures in 1993. This commitment to the environment has not only resulted in less waste, energy use and water consumption, but has also resulted in a significant cost savings for the company.
