The first iNEMO Ultra product, the LSM6DS3 six-axis high-performance accelerometer and gyroscope combo aims to create new possibilities for battery-powered mobile/wearables and IoT devices. Referred to as an always-on device because of its power efficiency, the 2.5 x 3.0 x 0.8 mm IC delivers industry-leading noise performance while protecting valuable board real estate and effectively managing system power.
Low-noise performance allows the unit to navigate indoors without a GPS signal reference for long periods of time, and testing has proven the combo to be typically 20% more energy-efficient than the best alternatives. This energy efficiency is due in part to the market’s largest “smart” FIFO (8kbytes). The memory allows the IC to save its time-stamped data from both its sensors and other external sensors, and batch-transmit data to save overall system power.
