Amplifier slews output to ±10 kV at greater than 700 V/μs

The Model 10/10B-HS ±10-kV four-quadrant dc-stable amplifier provides high speed of response with slew rate greater than 700 V/µs, high output current to 40 mA peak ac, and large signal bandwidth from dc to greater than 19.5 kHz (-3 dB). Applications include electrostatic deflection (ion beam steering, particle accelerators, mass spectrometers), material characterization (ferroelectrics), and electro-optic modulation.

Configured as a non-inverting amplifier with a fixed 1,000-V/V gain, the amplifier provides 0 to ±10-kV output with output current ranges of 0 to ±10 mA dc or ±40 mA peak ac (1 ms). The active output stage sinks or sources current into reactive or resistive loads throughout the output voltage range, and the unit is protected against overvoltage / overcurrent conditions that may be generated by active loads or output-to-ground shorts. Precision voltage and current monitors provide low-voltage representations of the high-voltage output and load current for monitoring or feedback, and a remote high-voltage on/off feature suits the CE-compliant unit for use in automated or computer-controlled systems.
