The FM1162 analog demodulator and digital IF processor is optimized for television markets in the Americas, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan where strong demand for hybrid (analog plus digital) terrestrial and cable television continues to grow. The digital IF output supports a 6-MHz bandwidth. Key performance features include extended smearing and ringing reduction capabilities.

The FM1162 is fully compatible with the most common analog (NTSC, PAL M/N) and digital (ATSC, ISDB-T) video standards. The chip accepts an IF output from both MOPLL and silicon-based tuners to generate analog CVBS video with SIF or MONO audio. It is housed in a 40-pin 5×5 QFN package and need no external analog/digital IF SAW filters or VGAs. (Less than $1 ea/prod qty — available now.)
