Analog Devices, Inc. is tuning into the needs of developers creating next-generation audio applications by introducing the Blackfin® Audio Starter Kit. The starter kit offers a complete package of development software and hardware to enable feature-rich products and fast time to market for embedded audio designs that use Blackfin — in a spectrum of applications such as premium audio players, personal media players, and professional audio effects processors.

Blackfin Audio Starter Kit

The Blackfin Audio Starter Kit software includes the Blackfin SDK (Software Development Kit), which is geared to get projects off to a rapid start by supplying audio algorithms, pre-built binary and source code, fully functional applications, and how-to documentation.

Algorithms supported by the starter kit under the appropriate licensing conditions include MP3, WMA, AAC, Dolby Digital (AC3), Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Headphone, DTS-ES, DTS Neo:6; Ogg Vorbis and Speex codecs; and high-speed Blackfin and PC communication drivers and utilities. Standard Blackfin development hardware is provided as well: EZ-KIT Lite® evaluation kits and EZ-Extender® daughter boards.
