Suited for space-constrained notebooks and netbooks, the MAX14550E Hi-Speed USB analog switch features a USB host-charger identification circuit to automatically detect portable devices. This device allows a host to charge portable devices even when the host is in standby and cannot enumerate USB devices. The part supports the USB Battery Charging Specification Revision 1.0 with shorted D+/D– detection, as well as Apple-compliant devices using a set resistor bias.
It features Hi-Speed USB switch with low, 4-pF typ, on-capacitance and low, 4-Ω typ, on-resistance. Operating over –40° to 85°C, the device comes in a 10-pin TDFN package. (From $1.65 ea/1,000 — available now.)
