Analog switch reduces PCB area, increases system reliability

Designed for use in medical ultrasound imaging systems, the 32-chANNEL HV2808 high-voltage analog switch IC replaces the typical electromechanical relays performing the probe selection function. The part, which measures 8 x 8 x 1.0 mm, is claimed to take up less PCB area, to emit no audible noise, and to increase system reliability.

Features include 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer, 3.3- or 5.0-V CMOS input logic level, and a quiescent power dissipation of –10 µA. The part also offers a dc to 50-MHz analog signal frequency and –60-dB typical off-isolation at 5.0 MHz. It is housed in a 56-lead QFN package and is RoHS compliant.
