Analyzers check Dolby, DTS accuracy bit-for-bit
Using the V2.3 system software update, APx audio analyzers with the Digital Serial I/O module can now perform accurate, bit-for-bit measurement of error rate in a device passing audio in lossy formats such as those of Dolby or DTS. Said to be the first time such capability has been offered, the analyzers now let users fully test devices designed to pass audio transparently using HDMI or other digital protocols.
The software adds support for the Digital Serial I/O option, and features HDMI EDID editing, a save-to-disk audio recorder, custom sweeps, signal diagnostics, dBSPL units, and other enhancements. (Software, free; two-channel APx525 with Digital Serial I/O, $16,600 — available now.)
