It’s no coincidence that Santa starts to make his list and check it twice right around the same time Apple begins shipping the latest version of the iPhone. Consumer electronic products are projected to be the top sellers again this holiday season, and retailers are gearing up for the holiday rush with aggressive pricing and promotion.
According to the recently released holiday forecast from Customer Growth Partners, consumer electronics spending is expected to grow by more than 4% this holiday season.
As projected by Customer Growth Partners, sales are expected to be driven by Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, lower-cost 4K high-definition televisions, and smartwatches.
The NPD Group also recently projected that iPhones and 4K TVs will be major sales drivers during the last two months of the year, along with lower-priced notebooks, Bluetooth speakers, basic fitness wearables, and cell phone accessories. The firm also predicts that home automation device sales will increase this holiday season. However, users of are expected to put off fully integrating these devices into their homes while using the most basic functions for a little while longer.
Some electronics gifts with a “wow factor” to consider for those on your list this holiday season might include:
