ATCA media processing blade has 576 cores

The ATCA-8320 ATCA media-processing blade is said to have the highest density of digital signal processing of any commercially available blade — with up to 576 DSP cores. The 8U card uses up to 24 Octasic OCT-2224M DSP ICs on a field-upgradeable mezzanine and Octasic’s Vocallo MGW voice and video software.

The blade also features an eight-core Freescale QorIQ P4080 with 2 Gbytes of DDR3 device for advanced IP flow management and distribution and an optional dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with 4 Gbytes of DDR3 for local control and management applications. The card is a RTP/UDP/IP endpoint with IPv4 with DHCP and IPv6. It has secure RTP and has G.168-compliant line echo cancellation and HLC and 3GPP and ITU voice codecs and takes –39 to –72 Vdc at approximately 270 W.
