The CMX138A audio scrambler and sub-audio-signaling processor is intended for use in half-duplex analog two-way radios or family radio equipment, particularly suited to enhanced MURS, GMRS, PMR446, and FRS designs. Features include an auxiliary ADC channel, auxiliary DAC interface with optional RAMDAC to facilitate transmitter power ramping, auxiliary system clock output, and transmit output for single-point-modulation.
Other important features include limiter functions, an input automatic gain control (AGC) function, in-band tone operation enabled down to 288 Hz, and improved audio compandor that enhances the performance of compressed signals. The chip operates from 3.0 to 3.6 V with flexible power-save modes and is housed in 28-pin (E1) TSSOP packages. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
