The Envy VT1730 USB 2.0 audio controller is said to be the industry’s first single-chip solution that leverages the 480-Mbit/s USB 2.0 bandwidth for high-end audio systems. The 8-channel, 24-bit/192-kHz chip handles up to five input streams and six output streams.
The IC provides a smooth interface between USB, analog, and digital audio devices, and has 8032 MCU core, a USB transceiver, five I2C masters and one slave controller, an I2S controller, a serial flash controller, four SPI ports, a phase-locked loop with oscillator, and a 3.3 to 2.0-V regulator.
