Audio processor features rate converters

The HD-compatible TAS5548 audio processor features an 8-channel PWM and dual asynchronous sample rate converters. It allows designers to seamlessly mix two audio sources by accepting sample rates from 8 kHz to 192 kHz and converting them to a fixed rate of 96 kHz or 192 kHz. It provides 4-channel native audio processing at 192 kHz.

The ICs 40-kHz audio bandwidth is compatible with Dolby True HD and DTS-HD. Extra microphone and I² S input combines well with the ASRC's ability to mix two different sample rate sources and yields the flexibility to mix a microphone with up to eight karaoke tracks. The 56-pin TSSOP packaged chip is available now for $3.68 ea/1,000.
