Audio processor handles HD tasks

The CS49700 audio processor meets the demanding processing tasks of next-generation HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc high-definition formats. The 32-bit dual-core chip supports six surround-sound audio algorithms, including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS Master, and DTS High Resolution.

The chip also supports HDMI 1.3, has an advanced PLL that generates a system clock source, and offers post-processing algorithms such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS 96/24, Neo:6, MPEG, AAC, SRS Circle Surround II, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speakers, SRS Tru-Surround XT, and THX Ultra2, which are built into its on-chip ROM.
