Audio/voice processor enhances sound quality
The CX20562 audio/speaker processor targets PC sound systems, echo-free speakerphones, and VoIP communications. The IC’s sound-processing algorithm uses dynamic range compression and equalization to “brighten” audio quality when source sound levels are low and reduces speaker clipping when loud signals overpower speakers.
The QFN48-packaged chip includes a wideband acoustic echo cancellation DSP engine, a 1.2-W Class D amplifier, a 24-bit D/A and 16-bit A/D converter, and USB 2.0 full speed. The chip’s DSP array blocks out background noise to improve audio quality and uses beam-forming technology to combine signals from multiple microphones and focus on a person making a VoIP call.
