The L99DZ70XP automotive driver IC produces the major signals required to drive vehicle door-mounted systems as well as an improved method for controlling electrochrome (EC) rear-view mirrors. The single chip eliminates discrete drivers normally mounted in multiple locations inside the door.
Up to five dc motor and five grounded resistive loads can be driven with six half bridges and five high-side drivers. An EC mirror glass can be controlled using the integrated SPI-driven module in conjunction with an external MOS transistor. Additional features include programmable soft-start, open-load detection for all outputs, and temperature warning and protection. ($3 ea/100,000 — samples available now; prod qty, 1st qtr 2009.)
