Electronic Power Steering Solutions
Electronic Power Steering Control IC Solutions are optimally designed with the following TI components.
Microcontroller:
The Safety MCUs offer an ARM Cortex-R based solution and are developed to Safety Standard IEC61508 SIL-3 & ISO26262 ASILD safety levels and certified suitable for use in IEC61508 SIL-3. Safety in hardware maximizes performance, speeds development with a complete guide to developing safety solution using Hercules Safety Manual & FMEDA, and significantly reduces safety software overhead which leads to more CPU headroom for application differentiation. These MCUs also offer integrated floating point, dual 12-bit ADCs with shared inputs, motor-control-specific PWMs, Hall Sensor input, sensor input capture on duty cycle /period, and encoder inputs via its flexible HET Timer co-processor or dedicated IPs. Hercules Safety MCUs can be used to implement scalar and vector-control techniques and support a range of performance requirements. Note that the ADC2 is optional.
Network Interfaces
Typically these interfaces are CAN transceivers for the chassis bus but may also include LIN, K-line or FlexRay.
Power Management
Including DC-to-DC conversion and/or regulation to create the main power for core and I/O power for the main processor, communication interfaces as well as power for the valves, inverters, motor, and safing circuit relay. Support a wide range of power supply system monitoring & protection, self-test and diagnostic of power supply itself and with MCU. TI also offers power solutions to meet stringent energy conservation mandates.
