Automotive-grade quad-output controller operates up to 38 V
Device integrates four independent voltage outputs
A high-input-voltage quad-output controller for automotive applications, the MAX17019 integrates four independent voltage outputs in a 36-mm2 TQFN package. The device includes a main-stage step-down controller, a 3-Ap-p step-down regulator, a 5-Ap-p step-down regulator, and a 2-A source/sink linear regulator. Capable of operating up to 38 V, the controller suits automotive battery-powered devices.
The step-down converters use a peak-current-mode fixed-frequency control scheme to provide an architecture that does not sacrifice transient response and supports peak-current-limit protection and pulse-skipping operation to maintain efficiency under light-load conditions. The controller is available in a 6 x 6-mm 48-pin TQFN package, and is specified from –40° to 125°C. (From $5.50 ea/1,000 — available now.)
