The L99PM62XP power management chip for car body applications addresses the carmakers’ challenge to reduce the standby current consumption (quiescent current) and for preserving the energy stored in the car battery. The device also provides fail-safe functionality with reduced external components.
The PMIC provides two 5-V regulators for microcontroller and peripheral supply. It enables periodic system activation to monitor configurable wake-up sources, coupled with diagnostic and system-status features. The device integrates high-side and low-side gate drivers, operational amplifiers, and auxiliary regulators. The PMIC targets microcontroller-based automotive applications such as door modules, body control units and mechatronic subsystems. ($2 ea/1,000 — available now.)
