Omnivision has announced at CES 2023 its new 1.3-megapixel (MP) OX01E20 system-on-chip (SoC) for automotive 360-degree surround view systems (SVS) and rear-view cameras (RVC). The OX01E20 offers LED flicker mitigation (LFM), 140-db high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities, and low-light performance. It is also pin-to-pin compatible with the previous generation of 1.3 MP automotive SoCs, providing an easy upgrade path for automotive designers.
The OX01E20 is built on the company’s PureCel Plus architecture, which is known for its low-light sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio performance, said the company.
The OX01E20 operates over a range of challenging lighting conditions and offers low power consumption in a small form factor. The automotive SoC, in a single 1/4-inch optical format package, features a 3-micron image sensor, an advanced image signal processor (ISP), and distortion correction/perspective correction (DC/PC), and on-screen display (OSD). It also provides HDR and LFM performance over the operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and is ASIL-B safety compliant.
Other features include 50/60 Hz flicker cancellation, high-speed serial data transfer with MIPI CSI-2 or DVP, and programmable GPIOs. Image signal processing functions include AEC/AGC/AWB, lens correction, defective pixel correction, HDR combination, tone mapping, and automatic black level correction.
The OX01E20 is sampling now and will be in mass production in June 2023. Omnivision is offering virtual and in-person meetings during CES, January 5-8, in Las Vegas, NV. Contact auto.marketing@ovt.com to schedule a meeting.
