Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, announced a new agreement in the Americas with Aeris, a provider of complete IoT and M2M network solutions. Avnet can now offer customers in all IoT markets – including automotive, fleet, health care, utilities, industrial and telematics – a unified platform to manage cellular connectivity across LTE, GSM and CDMA networks.

The Aeris platform provides a single point of access to a network of over 500 carriers globally and gives users the ability to control and manage end devices across different cellular technologies, ensuring efficient data usage, future deployment planning, improved profitability and customer satisfaction.

“Designing and producing an IoT solution is only half the battle. Successfully deploying these devices requires a reliable, flexible, yet cost-effective cellular network,” said John Salemme, vice president and general manager of Avnet Embedded. “Aeris recognizes that there are fundamental differences between connecting ‘things’ and connecting people. Adding their built-for-devices network offerings to our embedded solutions will help our customers maximize the IoT value proposition as they take their new M2M products and solutions to market.”

“As veterans of the IoT and M2M industry, we know that developing and deploying an IoT solution is complex. That is why this agreement, which brings the complete value chain of world class solutions together from a single trusted supplier, is so important to the industry. We know that Avnet’s new service, together with Aeris’ platform and support, will not only simplify creating an IoT solution, but also help Avnet customers to bring those solutions to market much faster,” said Andy Greig, vice president of sales, North America of Aeris.
