Developing an interactive GUI or touchscreen application? Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), recently announced new reference designs, tutorials and training videos for the 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit. The designs are supported on either the MicroZed™ or Zedboard™ kits.
To facilitate designs using the 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit, Avnet is providing an HDL-based display panel controller core that resides in the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC programmable logic. This display controller core is combined with an Ubuntu Linux-based reference design, which displays the Ubuntu desktop on the LCD panel and accepts touch input from the Projective Capacitive touch sensor.
In addition, Avnet has created two online instructional videos for the 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit. “Introduction to the 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit” reviews the kit’s basic capabilities. “Getting Started with the 7-inch Touch Display Kit” gives detailed instructions to attach the kit to MicroZed and Zedboard for evaluation.
“The set of tutorials and reference designs enables design teams to jump-start the creation of the interactive applications and touchscreens that are present across the electronics landscape,” said Jim Beneke, vice president of global technical marketing for Avnet Electronics Marketing. “The 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit combined with MicroZed or Zedboard offers embedded designers using the powerful Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC a complete, proven system for development, and these tutorials will help design teams implement that system much more quickly.”
The 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit offers embedded designers everything needed to develop interactive GUIs and touchscreen capabilities using the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC.
The 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit includes:
• 7-inch LCD Display Assembly
