Avnet Memec, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced that it has received the Distributor of the Year award from Finisar Corporation, a prominent supplier of fiber optic components and subsystems.

The award is given each year to a single Finisar distributor that demonstrates consistent revenue growth, design wins with new and existing customers, new market penetration, alignment with Finisar strategy, proactive communications, ease of doing business, and positive customer relationships.
Avnet Memec also received the Finisar Distributor of the Year award in 2006.
