The new AxiEco Protect axial fans from ebm-papst meet the requirements for demanding applications in evaporators, heat pumps, and other air and climate devices. The axial fan series offers high efficiency and high stability under pressure while offering a much steeper slope in its air performance curve than comparable axial fans, said the company.
The AxiEco Protect fans come in 300-, 350-, 400-, 450-, and 500-mm sizes and are available in EC and AC design. Both EC and AC designs meet the requirements of the future ErP Directive . With air flows of up to 12,000 m³/h and pressures of up to 450 Pa, they can be used in a variety of applications in refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation.
The axial fan’s impeller, integrated diffusor ring, and hub come from one compact unit. The blade tips pass over straight into the integrated diffusor ring, so there is no tip gap between the nozzle and impeller. This design eliminates an overflow of the blade tips, which is often the case with common axial fans, providing increased efficiency and lower noise, said ebm-papst.
In addition, the integrated diffusor ring also functions as a diffuser that is directly integrated into the impeller, said the company, which increases the pressure, resulting in reduced exit loss and less noise. This also extends the service life for the evaporators — the interval between defrost cycles, which saves energy and increases the device’s overall efficiency.
