Backplane xceiver handles 6.375 Gbits/s

The VSC3406 multichannel backplane transceiver significantly improves the signal integrity of uncompressed high-definition SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) 1080i/1080p signals at 1.5 and 3 Gbits/s. The chip yields 6.375 Gbits/s via a 2 × FC XAUI interface and features power dissipation of less than 250 mW per channel.

The chip includes VScope waveform viewing technology, enabling cost-effective real-time QOS monitoring. The 10 x 10-mm FCBGA81-packaged transceiver has six cross-connectable differential interfaces with on-chip terminations. ($60 ea/volume qty — samples available now.)
