The FAN5400 family of Li-Ion battery chargers suits single- or parallel-cell devices in cell phones, smartphones, tablets, wireless broadband hotspots, digital cameras and portable media/game players. The device’s switch-mode charger provides 94% efficiency.
Integrated with the switch-mode charger is a 5-V, 300-mA boost regulator that uses the same inductor as the charger and switch at 3 MHz. The chargers are available in a 1.96 x 1.87 mm, 20-bump, 0.4-mm pitch CSP package. The charging parameters and operating modes are programmable through an I2C interface that operates up to 3.4Mbps. The device has a charge current of up to 1.25 A and a charge voltage accuracy of ±0.5 % at 25C. ($1.18 ea/1,000 – available now.)
