Bel’s Newest Polymer PTC Resettable Fuses Protect Circuits in Broad Range of End Products and Systems

Radial-Leaded Parts are Rated for Continuous Operation at up to 120 VAC/VDC

Jersey City, NJ, April 6, 2009…Bel Fuse Inc., a premier developer of fuses and magnetic-based solutions for high-speed networking and computer applications, announced the addition of the radial-leaded 0ZRM PTC Fuse Series to the Company’s expanding portfolio of Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) resettable fuses. Rated to 120 VAC/VDC, the new RoHS-6 compliant devices boast a unique polymer formulation to ensure long-life performance and unparalleled reliability. Their capacity to limit the flow of dangerously high current during fault conditions allows them to protect products and systems during overcurrent surges and overtemperature faults. The parts do not need replacement after a fault event as they reset themselves, allowing the circuit to resume normal operating conditions once power is removed. This resettable functionality makes them the perfect option to traditional fuses and fusible links as they allow EOEMs to reduce the applied costs associated to repairs, service, and warranties. Materials meet UL-94V-0 requirements.

Bel’s 0ZRM Series is an ideal choice for employment in a wide array of industrial, commercial and consumer electronic products in which safety and reliability are significant factors. Parts are frequently specified for use in such telecom and data applications as NIDS (Network Intrusion Detection Systems), WAN, LAN, and T1/E1, as well as in systems designed to UL60950 and Telcordia GR-1089. Equally appropriate to protect circuits in digital video recorders, set-top boxes, and battery chargers, these resettable fuses are commonly used in computer applications including peripheral circuits, keyboards, mouse, USB ports, disk drives, and storage devices.

The 120 VAC/VDC rated series features parts with hold current ratings of from 0.10A to 3.75A, and an operating temperature range of from -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. Fuses are supplied with 20, 22, or 24 AWG kinked or straight leads. To learn more about Bel’s 0ZRM polymer PTC resettable fuses, visit http://belfuse.com/Data/Datasheets/0ZRM.pdf.

Prices for the 0ZRM fuse series range from $0.10 to $0.45 each in production quantities, depending on hold current rating. While delivery is from stock to 8 weeks, samples are immediately available.
